As a member of Ottawa’s small but burgeoning creative community, I think I bring a different perspective when approaching my artwork and oil painting sessions. Whether I’m painting my favourite places or encouraging lesson participants to use art to challenge their limiting narratives, I always strive to find the joy in connecting.

More about the artist.
Jocelyn van Wynsberghe is an oil painter and art coach based in Ottawa, Canada. Since 2011, she has trained under Canadian landscape artist Gordon Harrison. She began showing and selling her work in 2014 and her paintings now live in private art collections worldwide and adorn the covers of six young adult fiction titles by Dog-Eared Books Publishing House.
Through painting and selling artwork, Jocelyn explores her relationships with self and others to find meaning and belonging. As a facilitator of oil painting experiences, she strives to foster the same joy that she feels when creating, in her students.
“The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before." - Neil Gaiman
When not in her studio, Jocelyn works in post-secondary disability services. She finds purpose in designing educational opportunities that promote face-to-face engagement and cater to all learning styles and abilities.
